Our third European verification hub opened this week on the Waalhaven in Rotterdam. It puts sensor calibration, spares and audit support within a day’s sail of every major offshore array in the North Sea.
Why Rotterdam
Offshore is where estimates hurt most. A disputed month on a 500 MW array is worth more than a year of disputes onshore, and resolving it means getting a calibrated reference instrument onto a platform quickly. From Rotterdam, our teams can reach the Dutch, Belgian, German and southern UK arrays on a single crew-transfer schedule.
The hub houses a wind-tunnel calibration line for anemometers, an irradiance reference bench and a bonded store for pre-calibrated replacement sensors, so a swap can be completed on the same visit that identifies the fault.

Every instrument that leaves the hub carries a calibration certificate traceable to a national standard.
Inside the hub
The building is organised around one idea: a fault identified on a platform on Monday should be fixed with a calibrated replacement by Wednesday, without the instrument ever leaving the region.
Wind-tunnel calibration line for cup and sonic anemometers
Irradiance reference bench traceable to national standards
Bonded store of pre-calibrated replacement sensors
Audit room for lender and registry reviews
What it means for operators
Faster turnarounds on calibration certificates, a local audit team for lender and registry reviews, and a standing supply of reference instruments for commissioning. The hub is staffed from day one and joins our existing sites in Hamburg and Aberdeen.
If you operate in the North Sea and want to plan a calibration campaign, the Rotterdam team is taking bookings for the coming season.
