ZEPHYRA
380 interconnection points
Meridian Grid verifies at scale
A regional grid operator with 380 interconnection points was reconciling energy flows quarterly, by hand. Metering every hand-over to a single ledger brought settlement close to live and ended the arguments.

Disputed settlement intervals in the twelve months since go-live.
The challenge
Meridian settled with more than sixty generators and offtakers on a quarterly cycle. Each party arrived with its own meter export, and the regulatory affairs team spent most of every quarter reconciling the differences before a single dollar could move.
The state regulator, meanwhile, wanted interval-level visibility that the quarterly reports could not provide.
What we did
Zephyra placed calibrated instruments at every hand-over point — 380 in total — and read them to the same clock at the settlement interval. Each reading was verified against its upstream and downstream neighbours and committed as one signed record. Offtake contracts were mapped onto the ledger so every agreement could see precisely the energy it was entitled to.
The regulator received read-only access with full lineage on every figure.
The outcome
Settlement moved from quarterly to within the hour. In the first year there was not a single disputed interval, and the regulatory team was redeployed from reconciliation to planning. As Priya Raman put it, the value was not the speed on its own — it was that nobody argued with the numbers any more.

“We went from a quarterly reporting cycle to something close to live. The value isn’t the speed on its own — it’s that nobody argues with the numbers any more.”
